Early Decision

The Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) participates in the Early Decision (ED) Program. By selecting HMSOM as your only medical school choice on AMCAS and designating your application as "Early Decision," you demonstrate your strong interest and receive priority review.

You must select HMSOM as your only school on AMCAS to be considered for the ED program. Choosing other schools will automatically default your application to the Regular MD Program.

• Early Deadlines: Adhere to the following AMCAS Early Decision Timeline:
  • AMCAS Application ED Program Deadline: August 1st
  • HMSOM ED Secondary Application Deadline: August 15th
• Rapid Review: HMSOM commits to reviewing completed applications promptly.
• Early Interviews and Decisions: Interviews will begin in September, with final decision offers extended by mid September.

Applicants are either accepted to the next entering class or deferred to the regular applicant pool for further consideration. Deferred applicants are notified promptly and are free to apply to other medical schools. Their applications will also be re-reviewed by the HMSOM Admissions Committee later in the cycle.
